New Hope Childrens Clinic

School Based Health centers such as New Hope Children's Clinic provide health care to children in an easily accesible location: at school. Many students in rural areas do not have access to a medical provider and use the Emergency room as a source for healthcare needs. New Hope Children's Clinic is located on the school grounds in a singlewide trailer. We provide medical care for both chronic and acute medical conditions. We have the ability to refer to most specialists. We are staffed by all volunteer medical providers. We have only three paid staff. Our medical providers are all specialists in pediatric care, many work at Huntsville Hospital. We opened our doors in August of 2009 and have had over 3000 visits to our clinic. We are open Monday through Thursday. Our goal is to be the medical home for our students and give them the greatest chance for academic and social success through good health. New Hope Children's Clinic is aspiring to purchase a doublewide mobile facility to increase our exam space and to provide dental and vision services onsite as well. We are hoping to raise the needed monies by March so we can have our new facility in operation by the start of the 2012-2013 schoolyear.
