About Us

Nexus Neighborhood Outreach is a publicly supported tax-exempt charity.  

We serve northeast Dallas, with primary emphasis in North Lake Highlands - an area known for its dense and diverse population, and for its high crime rates.

We are a supporting organization of Nexus Community, an outward-oriented church located at LBJ and Forest Lane with an economically & culturally diverse membership.

What We Do

We work to improve the lives of people living at the margins through community engagement, education, and assistance with resources.

Parenting Classes – We provide monthly parenting classes to mothers of infants and toddlers, taught at our office by a board-certified pediatrician. 

Employment Assistance – We assist people in creating a resume and guide them in applying for jobs that will provide a living wage and help them achieve their goals.

English as Second Language – We offer ESL classes at our office as well as connect people with ESL resources in the community.

Auto Financing & Donation – We assist people to obtain a reliable vehicle through our vehicle donation program and through one-time financial grants to qualified individuals.

Rent & Utility Assistance – We offer emergency rent and utility assistance to prevent eviction and work with people to develop a sustainable budget moving forward.

Material Assistance – We provide donated furniture, baby care items, bicycles, and clothing to people in need.
