NHBW, Inc. works to improve the quality of life, facilitate family preservation, achieve self-empowerment, and promote economic development. Our organization is supported through membership dues, donations and fundraisers. All programs and services are presented to the community at no cost.
MISSION
The National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. Joliet Chapter is a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable community service organization dedicated to improving the lives of families through support of the arts, culture, health, education and human services programs.
We provide FREE food distribution to the community and serve as an emergency food distribution center partnering with Sharefest.
We provide FREE health and wellness screenings and seminars for the community with the collaboration of local hospitals and physicians.
We provide FREE leadership, life skill, and education programs for boys and girls, ages 5 – 18. Currently offering some classes via Zoom.
We provide FREE empowerment seminars for parents in the community.
We provide FREE books to the community through the Reading for Life program.
We support the Arts through various FREE activities and classes.
We welcome partnerships that will benefit the community.
We champion initiatives improving the quality of life for the family.
