BLACK LIVES MATTER
Today and everyday, our team firmly believes that Black Lives Matter. We stand in solidarity with organizations and movements working to dismantle racist systems, end police brutality, and defund the police. We honor the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, and countless other Black people who have been killed by police. Change cannot wait.
The violence against intersex and nonbinary people and the violence against Black people is deeply connected. Racist and binary systems spanning centuries have been designed to strip Black, intersex, trans, and nonbinary people of autonomy and recognition. As a result, we cannot embrace a world beyond the binary without dismantling white supremacy.
While we celebrate June as Pride Month, we must remember that our LGBTQIA+ movement was started by Black and Brown trans women who fought back against police brutality at Cooper's Donuts (Los Angeles), Compton's Cafeteria (San Francisco), Stonewall (New York), and beyond. It is because of activists like Marsha P Johnson, Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, and Storme DeLarverie that we have our rights today. We cannot celebrate Pride without honoring and uplifting Black queer, trans, and intersex voices.
With that said, we urge you and our community to donate and support Black LGBTQIA+ organizations for the month of June and beyond. Below are several organizations we encourage you to consider making monthly contributions to (listed in alphabetical order). Additionally, we encourage you to get involved by joining or supporting a protest near you (click here and here), reading literature to develop a stronger anti-racist lens (click here and here), and/or contacting your local and state representatives to create change (click here).

If after making donations to these incredible organizations you still want to contribute to our Give OUT Day page, we welcome your support!
NIRP’s mission is to create legal recognition of people whose sex and/or gender identity are non-binary by engaging in direct legal services, impact litigation, legislation, collaboration, and education.
We work in collaboration with local activists and organizations to enable government agencies to provide nonbinary gender options for identity documents.
See www.nirp.us for details on our work.
Any amount supports our vital work in creating a more empowering environment for nonbinary and intersex people in the US!
