No Footprint Too Small Birth and Bereavement Services

No Footprint Too Small offers support to local mothers and families who have experienced the heartbreaking bereavement of pregnancy or infant loss in order to fill a gap in care that Jolie Vega, our founder and president, noted during and after her own losses. No Footprint Too Small’s mission is "to support mothers and families who have experienced pregnancy and/or infant loss by offering birth and bereavement doula support, the support of other volunteer bereaved mothers and families with the assistance of a volunteer mental health professional, as well as by providing referrals to helpful resources related to pregnancy loss".

Jolie Vega gave birth to her first child, Judah Alexander, on September 6th, 2014. Her little boy was perfect in every way except that he was born still. Four months later, she found out she was pregnant again but it seemed like just as quickly as she found out she was pregnant, once again, her baby died. Despite these devastating and traumatic losses, Jolie and her husband Charlie never gave up hope and two months after miscarrying they found out that they had been blessed with another pregnancy. They are thrilled to report that this last October, Jolie gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Aviana Elise. Despite being blessed with a successful pregnancy and birth, their grief journey is ongoing and they will never forget how the deaths of their babies left them feeling very confused, heartbroken, and alone.

If they only knew what they know now, they would have known that they were most definitely not alone. One in four women experience the death of a baby: Annually in the U.S. alone, there are nearly one million miscarriages, almost 30,000 babies are born still, and 90,000 babies die before their first birthday. With these statistics in mind, one can only imagine how many of these deaths occur within our own community.

No Footprint Too Small's goal is to raise $3,000 on Give to Lincoln Day, but we cannot do so without your help. All of the items and services (care packages, doula support, and visits from trained volunteers and mental health professionals) No Footprint Too Small provides are offered free of charge to the mothers and families we support. With $3,000 No Footprint Too Small will be able to fund 12 care packages, pay for 12 months of website maintenance fees, and provide 12 families with a weighted memory bear.
