Our Broader Mission:   To stop the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure in Massachusetts and to promote expanded efficiency and sustainable, renewable sources of energy and local, permanent jobs in a clean energy economy.

We started in February 2014 as a handful of concerned citizens in Cummington and nearby communities, and, thanks to the force of this growing movement, we field hundreds of messages daily from people seeking information, sharing information and ideas, and offering to join the movement to stop the pipeline, and others in the region.

Thanks to engagement by thousands of citizens from across the region, the Northeast Energy Direct pipeline is now suspended and the ability of Kinder Morgan to proceed with the CT Expansion project is currently under scrutiny. Networking with communities fighting fossil fuel infrastructure overbuild across the Northeast, we engaging and informing citizens to not only oppose gas infrastructure, but to encourage expansion of renewable energy, energy efficiency and renewable-energy-compatible storage to meet peak demand.

We have given presentations in dozens of towns and helped over 80 pass resolutions to oppose pipelines and champion sustainable energy.  Our region stands at a crossroads with regard to where our energy comes from, and it's up to us to work together to "reject business as usual" and demand a sustainable energy infrastructure from our elected and appointed officials.
