The North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals in Thirteen Years….

•           Served nearly 10,000 Hispanic/Latino students from more than 50 school systems in North Carolina by offering scholarships, seminars, mentors, tutors, motivational presentations, and annual educational summits;

•           Awarded nearly $180,000 in scholarships to 145 deserving and promising Latino students;

•           Provided an annual forum for more than 2,600 teachers and school administrators from school systems across North Carolina to discuss methods and practices to help Hispanic students overcome barriers to academic success;

•           Promoted “Tu Vida, Tu Futuro, Tu Destino… Es Ahora… Educate! ("Your Life, Your Future, Your Destiny ... is Now... Stay in School") Awareness Campaign in every county of North Carolina.

•           Launched the first "Stay in School" Video contest among middle and high school Hispanic students;

•           Launched the first annual Hispanic Education Parent Fair;

•           Implemented ¡Gradúate!, an after school program for at-risk Hispanic students and their parents in two North Carolina counties;

•           Provided educational advocacy and represent interests of Hispanic students in key organizations, task forces, and advisory committees at the county and state level; and

•           Delivered more than 23,400 hours by members, volunteers and friends valued at more than $397,800 for the benefit of our Hispanic students in North Carolina.

NCSHP plans to continue to:

•           Deliver the largest Hispanic Educational Summit for middle and high school students in the state of NC;

•           Provide after school services to Hispanic high school students with the Gradúate program;

•           Award scholarships to college-bound Hispanic students;

•           Continue informing and empowering parents with the Hispanic Education Parent Fair;

•           and Advocate for Hispanic students.
