Kauaʻi North Shore Community Foundation

We are a community foundation working to improve life for everyone on the North Shore.

North Shore Give has relationships with local charities and nonprofits, businesses, leaders, and individuals in our community. These relationships help us identify and solve problems within our community, and allows us to quickly and sensitively respond to the existing conditions on the ground.

Donate to North Shore Give and you connect to the solutions for current and future needs of our community.

We promote local nonprofits: we lead and coordinate the annual North Shore Give Week to encourage everyone to learn about, volunteer for, and donate to the local nonprofits working hard to make this a better place.

We boost access to education: North Shore Give is the driving force behind the creation of the Namahana School. When it opens in Kilauea in 2025, it will be the only public, tuition-free secondary school on the North Shore. We give priority to education, including continuing financial support for the Namahana School and grants to the University of Hawaii Foundation.

We champion health and fitness: we host the family-friendly annual Ohana FitFest obstacle fun run/walk (2024 is the 11th anniversary). Grants from proceeds are donated to North Shore elementary schools for health and fitness programs.

We support community preparedness and sustainable environments: we help the North Shore prepare for disasters through the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and support environment improvements including reef and ocean health and cesspool conversion to a more ecologically efficient wastewater management system.
