HELPING SURVIVORS EXPERIENCE HOPE, HEALING, AND RESTORATION

North Star Initiative (NSI) is Lancaster County's first restoration home and program for adult female sex trafficking survivors. As a faith-based organization, our mission is to advocate for and support survivors of sex trafficking by providing physical, psychological, emotional, educational and spiritual development through a Christ-centered focus.

The Harbor Home provides a safe, loving environment where survivors participate in individual and group therapy, have access to medical, dental, and legal services, receive an education and job-skills training. Our goal is for each survivor to leave The Harbor fully restored so she can return to the community and flourish.  

The Survivor Center opened in January of 2023. This building provides a safe space dedicated to education, therapy and therapeutic classes, technology and resources needed to prepare our survivors to enter the workforce, and more.

A big part of what we do at North Star Initiative is bring awareness and education to the local community. We recognize that Lancaster county residents are still unaware of the extent of trafficking in our area. For this reason NSI provides speakers and hosts community events to help educate the public in multiple sectors. We also maintain partnerships with local, state, and national agencies and law enforcement to stay informed about trafficking activity and recruitment methods. 

We are committed to providing a safe, respectful environment that welcomes survivors just as they are to pursue the goals that are meaningful to each one of them. We provide trauma-informed care that recognizes, understands, and empathizes with the impact of their individual trauma. Who We Are

North Star Initiative (NSI) owns and operates The Harbor, Lancaster County's first restoration home and program for adult, female survivors of sex trafficking. A faith-based organization, NSI's mission is, "To support women who are survivors of domestic sex trafficking by providing physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual care through a Christ-centered focus."
The Harbor provides a safe, loving environment where survivors participate in individual and group therapy, have access to basic medical, dental, and legal services, and receive an education and job-skills training. Our goal is to restore each woman to wholeness so she can return to the community and enjoy a life of sustained independence.
