North Platte Swim Club

A nonprofit organization

The North Platte Swim Club seeks to provide swimming education and athletic opportunity to youth swimmers while bridging the gap between youth swim lessons and high school swim team. NPSC will recruit children and youth of all ages and abilities to participate in swimming, which is known for being a life long sport and a skill that can save your life.

The North Platte Swim Club was formed in 2022 by a group of parents, many of whom were former competitive swimmers, lifeguards, and instructors. The previous swim team had been disband when the coach moved away. NPSC board members worked with a local attorney to form a 501 (c) 3 and began a partnership with the City of North Platte to secure lap lanes for youth swim clinics and practice times. Due to a shortage of pool space and many users, NPSC has only been able to operate a summer club for the past three years. During the fall, winter, and spring, we offer Saturday morning technique clinics with specialized instructions for all ages. We have been fortunate to have many qualified and passionate coaches since our formation, including former high school/college swim athletes and coaches with regional USA Swimming Coaching experience. We have averaged 40-60 swimmers each season since we began. NP Swim Club athletes are a mixture of swimmers that join for exercise and to become a stronger swimmer, to those who compete at the local and state level as competitive swimmers. Our goal is to position ourselves to be ready for expansion when the new Rec Center facility is complete.
