NVTRP, located at O'Shaughnessy Farm in Clifton, VA, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that provides equine-assisted activities for children and adults with disabilities, youth-at-risk, recovering military service personnel, and their families in an inclusive, community setting.

Our full range of programs includes traditional therapeutic riding (small group lessons that focus primarily on riding skills and also include horsemanship skills) and hippotherapy (one-on-one physical, speech or occupational therapy that uses the horse’s movement as a primary treatment tool). In order to reach people who could benefit from riding but may not otherwise be able to participate, we cover the full cost of our youth-at-risk and military riders’ participation through grants and other fundraising activities.

We are accredited by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) as a Premier Accredited Center, the highest level of accreditation awarded.  Our long-term accreditation reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of operation as we pursue our mission.
