Northern Virginia Volleyball Association

Northern Virginia Volleyball Association was created in 1997. The goal of the organization was to provide opportunities for youth to play organized club volleyball in Northern Virginia. At that time, there were not may volleyball clubs in the region and NVVA quickly achieved success becoming one of the largest clubs on the East Coast. Providing opportunities to all kids that want to play the game was always NVVA's goal, and in 2009 the organization decided to fund its own volleyball facility, the Virginia Volleyball Center (VVC). The inauguration of the Virginia Volleyball Center gave NVVA the opportunity to grow its offering from only club volleyball to a variety of other programs that benefits kids of all ages and social levels. Starting at age 6, our volley tots program introduces sports and volleybal to a very young crowd, our volley juniors program targets kids age 8 to 12 years old and provides kids with the first opportunity to get excited about volleyball. Loudoun Youth Volleyball, one of the largest youth leagues in the country, helps over 1300 kids every year to start or keep playing volleyball during the fall. The league has been featured in many articles as one of the biggest reasons for the growth of volleyball in Northern Virginia. A big number of kids can't make the financial or time commitment to play club volleyball. For those kids we offer our Galaxy League which run in the winter and spring. Thousands of young athletes have been first introduced to volleyball through our camps and clinics during the summers. NVVA runs its own camps and also invites intitutions like Virginia Tech to join us in teaching our kids. Finally, our club volleyball program is the largest in the region providing volleyball opportunities to all levels of play. Every year, we attempt to keep as many kids as possible in our teams to make sure everyone has a chance to play volleyball.
