Northwest Arkansas Harm Reduction

At Northwest Arkansas Harm Reduction, we all carry a deep rooted passion for saving lives from overdose and other harmful actions. From losing a family member, friend, or even ourselves, we've come together to bring our experiences to the table and save lives. Since November 2022, we have saved over 40 lives from opioid overdose right here in Northwest Arkansas through our free naloxone and harm reduction resource distribution hotline. We are proud of our community and the work they let us do. 

Our current programs are our hotline distribution 24-hr volunteer lead text hotline and public trainings and education with plans to expand much further as we grow. Through our hotline we are able to connect with people and their families to help them stay alive through their substance use, addiction, and recovery with whatever needs they may have. We distribute sterile use supplies like clean syringes so preventable disease isn’t spread, clean cups, fentanyl testing strips so that people aren’t taking fentanyl unknown to them, and naloxone- the opioid overdose reversal drug.  Additionally through networking and our hotline, we are able to help people find recovery. When someone is ready for recovery and reaches out to our hotline our state certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists work to aid people through those next steps so that they are less of a burden on the person seeking help.
