Northwestern Community Youth Center Inc

This fall the Northwestern Community Youth Center is celebrating a 20th year anniversary of sustained growth in providing a safe place for students after school with many meaningful activities. 

During the operational hours under the leadership of three paid staff along with volunteers, students participate in developing cooking skills, craft opportunities, music, art, archery, pool, ping pong and computers. Basketball is played in the gymnasium with other activities in the large finished upstairs.

The Center is a 501 c3 in partnership with the Northwestern School District, the Northwestern Ministerium and the Albion Chamber of Commerce.

Since purchasing the "Old Tucker Hardware Store", three years ago, the interior of the building has undergone a complete renovation and we have been able to added many new programs for the youth of our area.

Our capital improvement program for 2025-26 is to begin some roof repair and undertake repair to exterior brick on the west side of the building. In addition, needing to expand space for activities planning has begun to turn the basement area into a usable space for programs.
