Norwela Council serves nine parishes throughout Northwest Louisiana. The Norwela Council is governed by an Executive Board of 59 members. The Norwela Council is composed of four districts who serve youth and adult volunteers throughout its nine-parish territory. Youth are served through 4 programs: Cub Scouts is for boys and girls K - 5th grades; Scouts BSA is for boys and girls 11 to 18 years old; Venturing is our high-adventure program for boys and girls 14 to 21 years old; and Exploring is our career-based program for boys and girls 12-21 years old.

Here are a few of our Highlights from 2022:
•Norwela Council serves 2,000 boys and girls in almost 100 Cub Scout Packs (age 5-10), Scouts BSA Troops (age 11-17), Venture Crews (age 14-20), and Exploring Posts (age 14-20)
•Norwela Council has over 600 adult volunteers
•Over 200 Boy Scouts attended Merit Badge Camps at Kinsey Scout Reservation during the Summer
•Over 1,000 Cub Scouts and their families attended Cub Family Weekend Camps
•Over 400 Scouts BSA members and Scouters attended Winter Camp at Kinsey Scout Reservation in November
•Over 400 youth participated in virtual Merit Badge classes this past spring
•23 youth attained the rank of Eagle Scout (the highest rank in Scouting) in 2022
•Norwela Council provided registration assistance and camperships to over 600 youth
•Norwela Council purchased food and program supplies for underprivileged youth
• The Norwela Council had a 3% increase in membership growth over the previous year
