We serve seniors many ways: Norwood Crossing offers residential care, including Assisted Living, Sheltered Care, Skilled Nursing, Memory Support and Respite Care.  Norwood Seniors Network provides a spectrum of services for seniors still living in the community, including in-home care giving and home delivered meals. The Norwood Park Senior Center,  offers five days a week of services and activities, including daily meals, exercise, book clubs, full-day outings, and the services of a nurse and social worker.

The Norwood Life Care Foundation is the fundraising arm of our non-profit organization.

Here's a story from one of our Norwood Crossing family members:

While in Norwood Crossing, my uncle refused to participate in any activities so your staff worked to find a way to engage him.  Molly would go to visit with him and just talk.  Then they started to sing songs together. Then Molly decided to teach him a few chords on the ukulele.  I got a call from my uncle requesting that I purchase him a ukulele because Molly was going to teach him to play.  Whenever he spoke of her his face would light up and a great smile would come across hi s mouth.  What a gift she gave him.

I really just wanted you to know that every person in your facility…strives daily to make the residents and resident families know that their family members are valued and well cared for.”

Norwood Crossing has developed a reputation in our community and in the aging industry for our exemplary commitment to the creative arts. We have committed to investing in the arts - and hiring an expressive arts team - because we believe this to be an effective way to help our older adults maximize their abilities and fully engage in their lives and in the community around them.

The benefits to seniors of engaging in the creative arts are well-documented. As a facility committed to whole person wellness, we want to offer our residents meaningful opportunities to learn new skills, retain existing skills and functionalities and fully participate in their world.

For the last six years, we have mounted two art shows, one in the spring and one in the fall. Residents create artwork of varied media in both group and individual settings. We also feature poetry, prose and song lyrics.  The artwork is displayed on the walls of our facility and a public reception is held to honor and celebrate the work of our artists.

Engaging in creative work - whether playing an instrument, painting a picture or writing a poem, brings satisfaction and a sense of mastery to the creator.

Please consider a gift in support of our 2014 Fall Art and Fashion Show. Your contribution will allow us to maintain this vibrant tradition that brings color to our hallways, pride to our families, and joy and meaning to our artists.
