NOWCastSA's nonprofit mission is to promote and facilitate civic engagement, empower the San Antonio community with information and democratize data, so we can all make better informed choices.

In 2013, NOWCastSA produced 215 hours of live, interactive webcasts of significant local events in San Antonio, from high school graduations and town halls, to budget hearings, candidate forums and community-wide commemorations such as World AIDS Day. Our interactive webcasts "open the room," giving access so hundreds more people can participate from mobile devices or computers anywhere in the world.

NOWCastSA also creates mobile-friendly maps to help you find early polling locations, vaccination clinics for kids, farmers markets and more.

NOWCastSA.com serves as a platform for anyone to build conversations around issues. Its four-person staff has trained more than 500 people on journalism principles and digital media literacy.
