Northwest Kidney Kids Inc

A nonprofit organization

One Kidney Kid mom says: "I remember going to our first Kidney Camp in 2001, while NW Kidney Kids was still growing into the organization it is today. My son wasn't even a year old yet and I was this young, terrified new mom who was just learning how to be a parent, let alone deal with the complicated medical issues my new baby was facing.  That year at summer camp by the campfire, another Mom took me under her wing and showed me how to survive it all, like she had with her two Kidney Kids. The next summer I went back to camp and I shared the same hope I was given with the several other families who were just starting out. I continue to engage and share my insight and with new families each year we go and really love that I can five back to those people who were just like me when I started out not knowing what to do or expect. 14 camps later and we are all part of a something much bigger, a new *huge* kidney family - leaning on one another in hard times and celebrating the achievements not many others can understand.  It can be incredibly isolating and stressful to raise special kids like these, and I know it was NW Kidney Kids, especially the magic of Kidney Camp that really got us through. This organization and the community it fosters is what gets us through after all of these years!"
