We're on a mission to guide kids aged 5 and up, helping them unlock self-love, confidence, and nifty coping skills for their superhero selves at home and school. Our secret sauce? Mixing things up in our office and out in the community, diving into cool projects like "tool boxes" for emotions and coping strategies. Oh, and we didn't forget about the parents! We host private sessions to help them navigate the maze of thoughts and emotions, finding solutions and asking the right questions like pros. While we can't spill all the beans on what kiddos keep under wraps, we're thrilled to reach around 30-50 families each year through O-I-See Youth Strategies.

Here are a couple of success stories:

Jason, the boy I tutored for three summers, was a mystery wrapped in a riddle for his worried mom. Quiet and reluctant in class, he dodged reading out loud like a ninja, his self-esteem taking a nosedive. Mom and I turned into detectives, uncovering clues in his reading struggles. Dyslexia seemed to be the sneaky culprit, but the school's hands were tied as Jason's scores weren't in the danger zone. A breakthrough came when a neuropsychological test spilled the beans, confirming dyslexia. Armed with this golden ticket, Mom conquered the school bureaucracy, securing 504 services for Jason. This eye-opening journey sparked a fire in me, revealing a gap in support for kids beyond the school walls. With a sprinkle of courage, I birthed O-I-See Youth Strategies, diving into the world of for-profit ventures to champion kids like Jason without red tape distractions.

Jason #2, the trailblazing youth, opened the door for many others in need. With a single mom juggling his ADHD diagnosis, we joined forces for some school-time soul-searching. Mom, seeking support, tapped into a local program for mentoring. And just like that, O-I-See swooped in to help both Jason and mom. Fast forward to 2013, O-I-See teamed up with local governments to offer mentoring, life skills, and more. But, hold onto your hats, because sometimes bureaucracy can throw a spanner in the works. One family faced a sudden halt in services, leading to heartache. Determined to never add to anyone's woes, OISFS was born, ensuring smooth transitions for youths in need.
