Oak Hill Pot of Gold Foundation

The Oak Hill Pot of Gold Foundation is a nonprofit started in September of 2020 that will be supporting the staff, teachers, and students of the Oak Hill United School Corporation, located in Mier, Indiana! We hope to take the burden off of teachers, who pay tons of money out of their own pocket every year to make their classrooms and their students learning experience as wonderful as possible! We love how our teachers and staff love their students, but they should not have to spend so much of their own money to make their classrooms amazing. We will be providing teacher grants, for whatever the teacher applies for, as a way to help them provide the best learning environment possible for their students!! We will also be providing student scholarships. We are starting, this year, with the "Katie Jo Maynus" scholarship! This will be honoring Katie Jo, who graduated from Oak Hill HS on June 12, 2020 and was killed in a car wreck June 20, 2020. She was a beautiful, kind soul and she deserves to be honored through a scholarship in her name that will go to a student that, also, has a giving, kind, beautiful soul! This scholarship will be given based more on the students character and heart, and less on their academic status....because Katie Jo had a big, beautiful heart, but schoolwork was not her strongest suit!! We, also, hope to love on the staff at OHUSC through monthly treats, notes of encouragement, and small tokens of our appreciation!
