Oasis Ministries Inc (dba Oasis USA)

 In Oasis USA, we seek to achieve this by:- 

•  Stopping Human Trafficking One Community at a Time
•  Supporting the global fight against Human Trafficking 
•  Developing communities where the marginalized are included

We are part of Oasis Global, a family of organizations working to help marginalized communities in 11 countries around the world. We are inspired by the life, message and example of Jesus Christ. We are called to love God, and love others as we love ourselves. We, therefore, seek to work together with others and live out a lifestyle according to this inspiration.

Oasis was initially founded in 1985 and has expanded rapidly over the last 20 years. We now work in 53 communities around the world and Anti-human trafficking has been a key focus of Oasis since the early 90's when Oasis India began. 

Oasis USA initially focussed on supporting our global work. We then developed campaigns to fight the use of child-slavery in global chocolate production alongside Stop The Traffick. What began, however, in the US with mainly advocacy and awareness has now progressed into the three areas mentioned above. A key strand in all the goals is working with local grassroots activists who have a community-based approach. Through this approach the Oasis USA team developed the Traffick Free Communities (TFCs) model, see http://oasisusa.org/traffickfree-communities for more detail. Currently, there are 12 TFCs across the USA, and other Oasis countries are starting to use the model. 

 You can help by donating and/or holding a fundraiser to support the work of Oasis locally or Globally.

The age that a large number of children in the USA are trafficked is between 11 & 13.

We have 13 ways in which you can help us. You can: 

• Donate to Oasis on #GivingTuesday either through Razoo or at http://oasisusa.org/give
• Undertake 13 hours of sponsored Rock Band or another gaming event
• Sponsor 13 hours of silence, prayer or fasting
• Screen a film about human trafficking
• Swim, bike, walk or run for 13 laps or miles
• Skate, rollerblade, longboard, surf for 13 blocks and back
• Bake and sell Freedom Cookies and/or Fair-Trade brownies
• Wash 13 Cars in a timed Car Wash
• Offer to do 13 hours of chores for the week
• Take $13 and turn it into $130 or $1300
• Enter your city marathon or 5K and be sponsored
• Host a fair-trade chocolate fondue party
• Give each of your friends a change box and ask your friends to collect their coins for 13 days
