Serious troubles are hurting our oceans, rivers, and the wildlife that rely on healthy ecosystems. Nutrient overloading, mainly nitrogen and phosphorus, is clogging up our rivers and dumping polluted muck and oxygen eating algae into our estuaries and coastal waters. The green slime suffocates the wildlife swimming in the estuaries and coastal waters, which already have less oxygen in them due to global warming. The combination of oxygen deprivation, coral eating acidification, and unsustainable usage of our waters is lethal for the wildlife.

Your support enables ORI with our large network of eco-stewards to solve these harmful assaults, address environmental injustices, and restore the health of our rivers, watersheds, and coastal waters. With your support, we fight to protect and improve vital beluga whale habitat in Cook Inlet (AK), allowing this endangered population to recover and be enjoyed by this and future generations of people. Your support helps us clean up the Indian River Lagoon (FL) - North America's most wildlife diverse estuary - so Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins and endangered wood storks can thrive again. Your support helps us clean up Nantucket Sound by advancing policy that stops nutrient dumping, so that wildlife and humans can live and enjoy its waters.
