Old Cheney Road Farmers’ Market is more than just a weekly market. We are the meeting place to connect local, family farmers with the people who support them. We support farmers who care for the land--fostering environmental stewardship from field to fork; and we connect those local, family farmers with consumers--educating the community about the importance of food grown with integrity.

As a non-profit organization, we are committed to building a healthy community that is food secure. In 2011, we became one of the first farmers’ markets in Nebraska to accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, formerly known as food stamps, providing fresh fruit and vegetables to families and expanding the customer base for local farmers - a win-win for agriculture and local communities.

With your Give to Lincoln donation, we aim to make local food even more accessible to everyone with our SNAP! Market Match program. Modeled after other national nutrition incentive programs, SNAP! Market Match will fund a dollar-to-dollar match, up to $10, for all SNAP funds redeemed at the Old Cheney Road Farmers’ Market. That increases the purchasing power of the SNAP dollar for low income families and puts more money directly into the hands of our local producers.
