The Oliver Wolcott Library is the principal library for the Town of Litchfield and is the cultural and intellectual center of our town, providing enrichment, education, and engagement for all ages! OWL is ranked first in the state of Connecticut for total adult circulation per capita, a statistic which shows how vital the library is for our community.
The Library is a 501c3 organization, and receives roughly 40% of its funding from the Town. The remaining 60% is raised each year through private donations.
It is through your generosity and support that we are able to provide the vital library services that our community needs. All of our services, materials, and programs are free and open to all.
With your support, we are able to:
- Ensure early literacy for all children through storytimes, materials, partnerships and programs.
- Promote technology literacy in our community by offering our one-on-one instruction through "Book a Tech".
- Provide enrichment and engagement for all ages with our varied programs including our author talks, scholar-led book discussions, lectures, storytimes, summer reading programs, “take and make’, theatrical events and more.
- Access to physical and digital materials.
- And so much more!
