Olmsted Linear Park Alliance Inc

A nonprofit organization

Olmsted Linear Park is a 45-acre green space and old-growth forest in the heart of the Druid Hills neighborhood.   This beautiful park was designed by the Father of Landscape Architecture, Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr. in the late 1890's.  For more than 100 years old, the Olmsted Linear Park has remained one of Atlanta's most scenic and historic landmarks.  It has survived many threats over years but continues to offer visitors today the beauty and tranquility of an urban oasis.  In 1997, Olmsted Linear Park Alliance (OLPA) was established to ensure the restoration and preservation of the park for all generations to enjoy.  With support from dedicated individuals, foundations, community partners and government agencies, OLPA raised more than $10 million for the park's restoration.  For the past 20+ years, OLPA has worked to: plant hundreds of trees and shrubs; install paved pathways and natural trails, build an accessible playground; correct erosion and storm water problems throughout the park; improve sidewalks and crosswalks; and install interpretive and horticulture signage in the park.

TODAY - we need your help raising funds to repair some of the aging infrastructure within the park and for the day-to-day operations of the park. Besides, the daily maintenance, OLPA needs to address flooding issues at the playground and replace some of the aging play structures.  The paved paths are deteriorating by extensive use, of which OLPA is grateful, but they need to be repaired.  The Deepdene forest is experiencing storm water erosion and tree loss of which OLPA plans to take measures in addressing these issues as well.  But, all of this takes a lot of resources.  OLPA's mission is to preserve and protect this urban oasis; to educate the public about the ecological and historic significance of the park in this urban environment so that, everyone may continue to enjoy its beauty today and in future generations.  Won't you join us in this effort.  We invite you be a part of that history!  Show the park some love -- please donate to the Olmsted Linear Park Alliance. Thank you!
