We are all about working together to change lives! We partner with local businesses, churches, organizations, schools and other government agencies to help meet needs in Pasco County. Currently our top three initiatives include:
Children
- Pack A Sack Food 4 Kids Program - provides food for over 900 food-insecure children every weekend in 28 schools throughout Pasco County.
- One Community Now Hunger Walk - is an annual event for the Pack A Sack Food 4 Kids Program. The event helps us continue our work and growth throughout the county connecting with more partners and schools.
- Low cost sports programs allow at-risk children the opportunity to learn how to play organized sports while developing their mental and physical abilities.
Families
- Neighborhood Impact - our current Neighborhood Impact community is Holiday Lake Estates and the three surrounding schools. We work within the community and schools to help build and strengthen the neighborhood by creating a safe environment that forms togetherness for low income families. We offer low cost sports programs for children ages k-6th, free hot meals weekly, classes to help with finances, budgeting, time management, parenting, anger management, cooking and knitting. We plan regular community and Holiday events, and provide free childcare for classes and events when needed.
- Getting Ahead in a Just Getting By World is a 16 week course that helps families learn about community resources and how to assess their own resources, allowing for opportunities to set goals, helping themselves get ahead in life.
Veterans
- One Community Now Stand Down - is a three day event that brings together over 50 different resources that are dedicated to helping the homeless and at-risk Veterans transition into civilian life while being honored for their service. We connect them to all the resources they may need to find housing, jobs, medical, dental and mental health services, personal hygiene assistance, and much more.
- Financial assistance is provided to assist homeless and at-risk Veterans gain permanent housing.
New initiatives
- Take a Stand against Human Trafficking in Pasco County.
One Community Now will partner with USIAHT to make Pasco County a traffic free zone. We will help to provide resources and education to help prevent and end human trafficking.
- Affordable Low Income Housing
Provide affordable housing in Holiday Lake Estates to families transitioning out of the Metropolitan Ministries.
- Create a transferable model for Neighborhood Impact
Replicate the work in Holiday Lake Estates in other communities throughout Pasco and other places.
