At One Mind, we have narrowed it down to one important need: 
Our brains need answers.

It’s not just doctors and researchers who need to find better diagnostics, treatments and cures for the brain. It’s also everyday people who can bring a variety of skills, experiences and knowledge. Whether a firefighter, dentist, athlete, engineer, student, parent, developer, philanthropist, or anyone else, we all have experienced, or know someone who has suffered a brain disease or injury. We are in this together, and need one another to tackle the challenges of the brain.

One way we are finding answers is through the PatientsLikeMe (PLM) online network. By partnering with PLM, we are helping patients, caregivers AND researchers find answers about Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

OUR CAMPAIGN INSPIRATION - TREVOR MARTIN'S STORY

"I was an airborne infantryman (11B) in 2-505PIR 82nd airborne. 2009-2012. I have 2 Afghanistan deployments under my belt and I have a mild TBI and what some have called severe PTSD. I saw/did a lot of things that most people would have nightmares about... And I do. I haven't been on this site for very long but man, I'm glad I found it.

Since telling my story in a forum called "PTSD, my story and a cry for help" a couple months ago and reading all of your stories, I'm happy to say that I've made tremendous progress within myself. I've only had maybe 5 "freak outs" since joining, whereas I was having 5 a day before. Half of the battle is knowing that you're not alone in this. We've all done and seen different things but in reality, we're all the same.

A little heartfelt side note... If it hadn't have been for all of you, brothers and sisters, I was on the edge of suicide. You helped me through. All of you. I love each and every one of you. Thank you all so much. You kept my grunt ass alive:)"
