“If we are to go forward, we must go back and rediscover those precious values - that all reality hinges on moral foundations and that all reality has spiritual control.”  Martin Luther King, Jr.

One Vision 4 Children Foundation's mission is to empower children to meet their true potential as a human being of high character.  Children must learn to live as their authentic self at an early age and understand the joys of a life which are built around values and living life with authentic purpose and love.

To enable this character, OV4C has built a proprietary teacher facilitated process and multimedia content that will develop and deepen values and character over time.  OV4C's process fosters emotional intelligence in children by creating content based on five key principles:

- Love

- Truth

- Peace

- Right Choices

- Nonviolence

Driven by the passion and calling of Dr. Milan LaBrey, OV4C has developed and disseminated its proprietary process across several educational environments and the results are stunning.  OV4C is now ready to roll out its process on a larger scale and is seeking financial donors that want to see the positive impact of values as a competency among children to reap the societal benefits...one child at a time.  OV4C is creating values training curriculum for teachers, books, and a multimedia platform.  In future, stages, the strategy will also include development of television shows, music programs, and recognition programs for children.  The programs were developed to create values skills across multiple learning styles.

The realized impact on the child is to shift the home environment creating better behavior; less impulsive, opens communications channels with parents, reduces frustration on the part of the child and improves behaviors in the school setting.  The long-term societal benefits of the process include avoiding long-term behavioral problems that lead to expensive incarceration and the cost to victims of crime.  OV4C will shift the consciousness of decision making such that the individual will call on those entrenched values to make “right” decisions from awareness, not habit.  This will drive a positive change across cultural lines that open dialogue and understanding.  The system drives the individual to make “correct” decisions against their values system as opposed to the “easy and popular decision”.  That is, the long-term consequences and importance of acting within your value system has great long-term reward.

“Values” as an underpinning of individuals and societies is clearly needed now more than ever and the earlier we can teach a child about values the greater the impact on positive behaviors throughout life.  In fact, values training will create an open mind toward learning and eliminates many disruptive behaviors.  In this new age, social media, and connected world outside influences come into play with higher frequency at very young ages. Children are processing information and situations at younger ages.

Few would argue that the need to teach fundamental values to our children is most important part their development. Have a strong moral code allows children to grow and be a positive contributing human as they move through the journey called life.  The earlier we teach our children fundamental values of love, truth, peace, right choices and nonviolence, the better for the individual and society as a whole.

Values education is critical and should be regarded as a part of a schools “core” mission as well as basis for children's television, books and other media outlets.  It should be given equal status with core curriculum as it sets the stage for positive behavioral changes, capacity for learning and constructive interactions. Research has shown that understanding and practicing good human values are the foundation for strong emotional intelligence skills which have been the cornerstone of truly successful people.

Personal values are the most critical elements that fundamentally keep societies and cultures whole and peaceful.  Without a sense of values whole empires have collapsed.  Help support our vision and be our partner in collaboration to begin a great values shift worldwide, one vision, one child, one heart at a time.
