Our Mission

Promise Scholars is where Ontario-Montclair comes together to strengthen our region by encouraging our students to pursue their education after high school.

We believe that unlocking the potential of our community relies on unlocking the potential of our children. So we bring everyone together— students, parents, educators, businesses, and local leaders—to introduce kids to the opportunities available after high school and make sure they get on the education pathway to achieve their goals. When we help them become successful and contributing adults, our entire region benefits from a brighter, more productive future.

What is Promise Scholars?

Promise Scholars is a UNIVERSAL college access program for all Ontario-Montclair School District students and all students at Chaffey, Montclair, and Ontario High Schools.

With your support, we provide:

• College-going activities and supports for students starting in elementary school, through high school, and then on to the transition to college. This includes any education after high school, such as technical training certificates.
• Financial aid workshops and college application support to all 12th graders, 9 out of 10 of which will be the first in their family to attend college.
• Three $10,000 scholarships to three seniors from the Class of 2023. 
• Guaranteed admission for students that complete preparatory requirements to 9 local partner colleges.
