Open House Ministries

Restoring Homeless Families in Clark County and Southwest Washington

At Open House Ministries, we walk alongside homeless families and help them rebuild their lives. Providing food and shelter is just the beginning. Families set goals with case managers, receive counseling and guidance from our full-time chaplain, and learn new life skills.

Open House Ministries has helped families restore relationships with each other, their community, and Christ for over 35 years. Our family shelter is located in Vancouver, Washington, and provides housing for 34 families.

More than a Shelter

Our resources are committed to equipping families with the tools they need to resolve underlying issues and overcome obstacles causing poverty and homelessness. Our program partners with local social organizations and education sources giving residents an opportunity to learn new life skills and finish their education. Residents also receive vocational training by working in our on-campus thrift store and bicycle shop, building job skills, and updating their resumés with current employment.

OHM West: Providing a Solid Path Forward

Affordable housing is impacting each family graduating from our program at Open House Ministries and is creating an obstacle to reaching more homeless families in our community. Our organization is strategically expanding with an affordable housing complex next to our campus. OHM West, a new, mixed-use building, will provide 30 affordable apartments on three floors above ground-level shopping for our thrift stores.
