Opera is the fastest growing art form in the country. Over the past 15 years, the number of audience members has increased by 43% and we are keeping up with the demand by putting on events to open up opera to a wide range of new people. Young professionals have found a new art form that they enjoy and want to support. Annually, the dollars we can generate from ticket sales do not fully cover the costs associated with opera. The cost of one single opera is close to $100,000. Season after season, our audiences enjoy the thrill of seeing period costuming and beautiful sets and hearing glorious voices. The added expense of the orchestra and theater rental requires extensive donor development and support in order to sustain this beautiful and all encompassing art form in Idaho. Opera Idaho has been producing opera for Treasure Valley audiences for over 40 years.
