Our Mission

Operation Hope-North County aims to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment for families with children and single women who are experiencing homelessness as they rebuild their lives and reclaim their independence.

Operation HOPE-North County was founded in 2003 and provides year round emergency shelter, case management, and supportive services to families and single women experiencing homelessness in San Diego through its Steps to Independence program. In response to a growing community need, the shelter expanded in 2016 from winter services only to year round services. In addition to providing emergency shelter and helping families address basic needs, the Steps to Independence program offers intensive case management, self-sufficiency planning, financial education, recovery support, youth programming, teen processing, community resources and “after-care” services for program graduates. Since inception, Operation HOPE-North County has helped more than 1,690 San Diegans transition from homelessness to secure stable housing.

We have a variety of ways to get involved, including supply drives, sponsorship opportunities, meal service, donorship, and volunteer options.

Please reach out to info@operationhopeshelter.org with any questions or to get involved.
