A nonprofit organization

"Empowering young teen girls to increase their sense of self-worth and maximize their potential contribution to society"

The Ophelia Project is a women-to-young women mentoring program offered in 14 schools within the Coachella Valley. Volunteer female mentors come alongside to encourage, guide, love, and support selected girls from 8th grade to High School seniors. The trained Mentors provide them with knowledge about personal and life skills such as self-esteem building, self-care, and self-awareness. In addition, practical skills like goal setting, leadership, time management, and money management are presented.

The Mentors encourage regular school attendance, good study habits, pursuit of a college degree, vocation or trade school, and healthy choices.
Girls entering the Project have an average GPA of 1.88. Upon High School graduation, our Ophelia Girls have an average GPA of 3.99.
