 Why India?  Although India has developed economically in the past decade, many children face a bleak future without family.
   It's estimated that 11 million children in India have been abandoned.  Total number of orphans is estimated at 26 million, and about 14 million children are child laborers.
  Sponsoring a child in India provides the opportunity to establish a long-term relationship with a child if you wish to do so.  You are able to send letters, cards, and packages directly to India (rather than going through an organization). 
   You can communicate directly with the orphanage director if you wish to do so.  So, sponsoring a chiid in the orphanages overseen by Pastor George Fernandes provides a very personal form of child sponsorship.
   Pastor George also provides opportunities for missionaries to serve as volunteers at the orphanages. Other ministries overseen by Pastor George include widows ministry, church planting, evangelistic preaching, and pastor training.
