About Orphans’ Future Alliance (OrFA)

Orphans’ Futures Alliance aims to provide orphans in impoverished Southeast Asian communities (currently in Vietnam and Thailand) with access to primary, secondary, and postsecondary education and mentoring to better adapt to and blossom in their local communities.

Our Programs

Scholarship Program:  The purpose is to support a student’s education, awarded based on academic needs and achievements, as well as other criteria, such as alignment with OrFA’s mission. Those who are in the scholarship program are automatically enrolled in the mentoring program.

Mentoring Program: The purpose of our 1:1 mentoring pairing is to help orphans develop and maintain a stable mental state and a positive outlook in life. We believe that by having a mentor, the children will have an added support/role model/friend to help guide them throughout their adolescence. In turn, we hope that this will empower them to have more confidence in their decisions, stimulate their passion and drive to pursue their dreams, and overcome any obstacles that life may bring. It is our mission that they will become their best selves and truly shine.

How Orphans’ Futures Alliance Started

Chau and Thai-Anh Hoang are the founding members of Orphans Future Alliance.  It all started back in 2011 when their mother showed them pictures of an orphanage in Hue, Vietnam that she had visited and supported regularly over the years. After hearing the stories of numerous orphans from the center, Chau and Thai-Anh decided to get involved as well. In October 2011, the sisters raised over $5,000 in educational funds for these orphans.  They realized how much of a difference they could make by providing them with something as seemingly fundamental as education. The orphans raised at the center are very intelligent and curious, but, without the nourishment of proper schooling, they will likely grow up deprived of opportunities available to other children. Chau and Thai-Anh returned from their trip with a purpose: to launch a non-profit venture dedicated to providing orphans in Southeast Asia access to education. With this purpose in mind, the two founded Orphans’ Futures Alliance with Sensen Lin.
