Help bring mental health services to OMC in 2023

OMC Mission: to inspire and improve the health and well-being of our community

through home-town customer service, quality health care and strategic partnerships.

It’s no secret that mental health is a rising issue in our country, and it’s reflected in our own community. OMC sees this firsthand when treating patients for a variety of symptoms.

Did you know this?

  • In 2022, 1,458 unique patients were seen at OMC for mental health problems.

  • 49% of local high school students experienced significant problems with anxiety in the past 12 months.

  • 34% of local high school students experienced prolonged, disruptive sadness in the past 12 months.
  • 25% intentionally self-harmed without intending to die in the past 12 months.
  • 39% of local high school students have lived with someone who is mentally ill, suicidal, or depressed.
  • 39% of local students, who reported suicide, reported they don't feel like they belong in school.

(Data was gathered from student surveys and OMC)

That’s why, we’re dedicating our 2023 #giveBIGscv campaign to raising money for therapeutic services and an Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) program at OMC.

 What does that mean?

  • Integrated Behavioral Health is an approach that combines physical and mental health services into one coordinated system of care. It aims to address the whole person and their health needs, rather than treating physical and mental health issues separately.
  •  By integrating physical and mental health services, Integrated Behavioral Health can help to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and make it easier for individuals to access the care they need.

So, if you or someone you know is struggling with physical and/or mental health issues, Integrated Behavioral Health may be a helpful approach to consider.

We are asking for your support to provide therapeutic services and space for individual and group therapy on our campus. We can do this better and more quickly with the support of our donors.  Would you join us in changing the trajectory of a life in desperate need?

We would like to sincerely thank you for making OMC and OCHF one of your giving priorities.
