Our Own House: Because Safety, Dignity, and Purpose Should Be for Everyone

We're just getting started--but the dream behind our organization has been growing for years.

It began with a shared realization among families, caregivers, and advocates: when adults with developmental disabilities age out of school-based programs, they often find themselves without support, structure, or a sense of belonging. Too many are left isolated, with limited opportunities to live meaningful, independent lives.

We asked ourselves, What if there was something better?

What if there was a place where adults with developmental disabilities could flourish, not just survive?

A place where they are seen, valued, and supported?

A place where they have their own apartment not just a bedroom?

These questions led us to our mission:  To foster a vibrant residential community where adults with developmental disabilities flourish, find purpose, and truly belong.

By establishing Our Own House as a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit, we are laying an important foundation. We are creating a place where connection, purpose, and inclusion are at the heart of everyday life.

We know we have a long road ahead--but we also know we aren't walking it alone.

This is your chance to be part of something transformational from the ground up. Whether you're a parent, a professional,  a donor, or a dreamer--your voice, your passion, and your partnership can help turn this vision into reality.

Imagine building a community where everyone belongs.  Your donation will help make it happen!
