      Exciting news!  OutReach moved to our new location in June 2016!

      Our new office at 2701 International Lane #101 features 50% more space, lots of windows, a gender neutral bathroom, lots of parking, and lower rent.  We now have more resources to offer to the LGBT community.

           3,500 individuals have been helped by our work over the past year, and we provided more than 24,500 services to these clients to meet our mission “to promote equality and quality of life for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.” 

      We help people on so many levels, whether they just want information on a gay-friendly business or have been a victim of an assault. We help LGBT people live safer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. 

 Success Stories:

     Homelessness is still a big problem in the LGBT community in our area, especially for youth and transgender people. In 2015 Willma’s Fund helped 21 homeless LGBT clients and awarded $9,890 in small grants to keep them in housing or help them get off the street.

      Many of our Willma’s Fund clients have been able to find jobs and permanent housing because of our assistance. Of the 13 people that we have place in housing, 11 are still there.

      In 2016 we hosted our third annual OutReach Pride Parade. The 2016 parade was held on Sunday, August 21, and focused on diversity and inclusion. 65 units marched in the parade, and thousands attended. We are already planning for 2017!

     Although we regularly see news stories about political and legal advances in LGBT rights, we also see stories of people who have been bullied, abused, attacked or fired from their jobs because of their gender identity and/or sexual orientation. There’s been so much progress, and yet so much still needs to be done.   

      At OutReach, some of our clients are homeless, unemployed, or have a variety of health problems. These clients often have no resources to help themselves through these difficult times.

      We are so grateful to be a part of their success stories: clients who were homeless and got a job and an apartment, clients who have mental health problems and improve with treatment, people who attend support groups and find help through new relationships, and many more.
