Outright Vermont

Outright has given me a place to grab hold of the world and proudly hold myself as a queer and trans person. My first real involvement with Outright was during the Queer and Allied Youth Summit when my high school was chosen to be the hosting school. Dana, the Director of Education at Outright, worked with my high school's QSA extensively to give us the agency and control to take on the work that we wanted to take on and supporting us in the places that we were less excited about.   Since then, my relationship with Outright has grown to be one of support and community as I am continuously supported as an educator and advocate for queer youth around the state. Outright is a place where I can show up as fully queer as I want and know that there will be people in the space willing to advocate for my work and for my identity, something that is validating and affirming as a youth. Outright has empowered me to be a strong leader in my various communities, allowing me to develop into a "Fully-Functioning Queer who Has Something to Say" and will fight to be able to say it! I owe deep amounts of gratitude for the organization for supporting youth and the work of youth.
