Ozark Folkways

I only imagine what our founder, Miss Clara Muxen, might say if she were aware of what is going on at the building she built.

If she were here, if it was her lifetime, I have no doubt she would be personally scouring the landscape for you and your special talents, gifts, and most valuable to her, your connections in the creative community.

She would be keenly interested in talking with you because of your devotion to the arts and native crafts of the Ozarks, and your desire to see them taught locally.

She would be seriously anticipating the moment when she could sit down with you, because you have the funds to share, and the heart and soul, to donate the money needed to help finish what she started so many years ago at the Craft School of the Ozarks, what we now call, Ozark Folkways. 

But she is not physically here. This is not her lifetime. Her lifetime is past.

It is my lifetime and it is yours and it is our chance to make a difference in the world. It is our chance to finish what a dear soul started, with the best intentions, so long ago.

I’m looking for the same things she would be looking for, if she were sitting beside me now.
