“Everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts…”– Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 27

At Primer Acto Florida Foundation (PAFF), we believe access to the arts isn’t a luxury — it’s a right.

Founded in 2021, PAFF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Spanish-language performing and audiovisual arts for South Florida’s community. We create professional, inclusive, and culturally relevant experiences that foster identity, connection, and belonging — especially for those living far from their home countries.

What We Do

Our mission is to make Spanish-language performing and audiovisual arts accessible to all — regardless of nationality, generation, or social status — while creating real opportunities for Hispanic artists and audiences to thrive.

Since our founding in 2021, we have:

  • Produced over 90 theatrical performances across Miami, New York, Madrid, and Mexico City
  • Hired more than 134 artists
  • Worked with over 53 volunteers
  • Reached thousands of audience members from across South Florida

Some of our most recognized productions include:

  • “La que se va a armar” – a bilingual comedy that toured internationally
  • “Cuento de Navidad” – a holiday story adapted for Hispanic audiences
  • “El Asesinato Silencioso” – based on Agatha Christie
  • Original works like “Las cenizas de mamá”, “La isla bonita”, and our “Teatro Boutique” series of intimate, thought-provoking plays

More Than Theater

PAFF is committed to using the arts as a tool for inclusion and transformation. Through our community programs, we bring theater to places and people that often lack access:

  • Art Therapy: Weekly Spanish-language theater classes and transportation for formerly homeless adults, in collaboration with Hermanos de la Calle Foundation and La Casita Foundation
  • Art For All: Free Spanish-language performances for public schools and underserved communities
  • Free Acting Workshops: Open, no-cost acting classes in Spanish for adults from the local community

Why Support PAFF?

Because art creates belonging. It gives people a voice, connects generations, and brings communities together.

By supporting PAFF, you’re helping to:

  • Create meaningful work for Hispanic artists
  • Preserve and share the richness of the Spanish language and culture
  • Make the performing arts accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford it
  • Build a stronger, more united Hispanic cultural presence in South Florida

Your contribution makes all this possible.Support Spanish-language arts. Support equity in culture. Support PAFF.
