PICT Classic Theatre

A nonprofit organization

PICT Classic Theatre is committed to the creation of high-quality, professional thought-provoking theater of substance. We accomplish this mission by investing in and promoting the community and region, and by producing and presenting classics and the "modern" classics of Irish and world theater. We continue to explore innovative ideas that showcase the emotional power of a play and its ability to stir the soul in unimaginable ways.

Under the leadership of Artistic and Executive Director Alan Stanford, PICT's 20th season marks our inaugural season at the Union Project; continuing on with humanistic, time-tested themes that permeate society today. PICT Performs will produce one play at the Stephen Foster Memorial before our season begins. May 5-20, 2016 'Two Tales of Terror' by Edgar Allan Poe, adapted for the stage by Alan Stanford. PICT's 2016-2017 Season will begin with "Shirley Valentine", by Willy Russell from Sept. 1-17. Our Shakespeare production will be "Merchant of Venice" from Nov. 3-19. Our holiday production is "The Lion in Winter" by James Goldman, Dec. 1-17. In the Spring, we will continue with "Oedipus Rex" by Sophocles from March 23-April 8. Then, the season concludes with "Sive" by John B. Keane from May 4-20. Our opening and closing shows are building on two show successes from last season, "Sharon's Grave" and "Educating Rita".
