PACE Center for Girls Hillsborough serves middle- and high-school-aged girls who have experienced school failure due to the trauma of physical and sexual abuse, family instability, poverty, bullying, substance abuse and health challenges. Through our nationally recognized, research-based, non-residential program model we combine academic preparation with social services in a girl-centric, strengths-based environment.
PACE Center for Girls in Hillsborough has been serving the community since 1998. Statewide, PACE Centers have served more than 40,000 girls at our 19 Florida locations since opening our doors in 1985.
We've changed the lives of girls like Angel, a smart and bright young woman from our community. However, life's circumstances led to her run away from home, skip school, and start fights with peers. After attending PACE for a year, Angel gained 11 credits, was promoted twice and transitioned successfully to Jefferson High School. The skills she learned at PACE enhanced her ability to be more focused and conscientious about her path in life. With ongoing support from her family and PACE Hillsborough, Angel graduated from high school a year early and has applied to Tallahassee Community College this spring.
