At the heart of our chaplaincy and first responder support services lies a deep commitment to serving others in their moments of greatest need. We believe that every individual deserves help and understanding, regardless of circumstances. Our dedicated team of chaplains and support professionals stands ready to offer hope and provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support during life's most challenging times. Our mission is rooted in the fundamental belief that everyone deserves compassion.
We serve first responders and community members in Camano Island, Stanwood, Arlington, Tulalip, Getchell, Darrington, Oso, Mount Vernon, Lynden, greater Snohomish County, and beyond!
First Responder Peer Support Team Coaching & Training
Several members of our team are actively involved in first responder peer support teams. We are both nationally and locally trained and have extensive experience serving as peer support members, leading debriefings and defusings, supporting first responders individually, and helping departments launch or relaunch peer support teams. We facilitate trainings for peer teams and collaborate with national trainers to facilitate foundational and continuing peer team education. Several of the peer teams with which we work utilize our services as peer coaches.
Critical Incident Stress Management
Our team holds national certifications in Critical Incident Stress Management and are able to lead debriefings and defusings for first responders and other community and government agencies following impactful incidents. We often co-lead with local peer support team members for group response and are also available for confidential 1:1 support.
Chaplaincy
Pacific Northwest Support Services provides chaplain support to both our first responders and the community members they serve. Our chaplains are dispatched through the 911 system to scenes along with local law enforcement and fire personnel and walk alongside families experiencing trauma, death of a loved one, and/or challenging life situations. Our team is able to offer both practical and spiritual support according to the needs and requests of community members.
First Responder Resource Connections
PNWSS maintains an extensive list of resource connections for our local first responders and their family members. We regularly connect responders to culturally competent counselors/therapists, responder retreats, Post-Traumatic Stress and Addiction Treatment Programs, and additional personal supports. Our team is committed to empowering our responders’ family members and connecting them with resources as much as we are our first responders.
First Responder Wellness & Resilience Education
Our team members often lead training for first responder departments and chaplain teams in the following areas:
