Page Regional Domestic Violence Services History:

The agency began with a $72,000 grant from the Department of Economic Security.

•1997, the agency opened up the first shelter in a (5) bed singlewide mobile-home trailer, donated be the city of Page.

•1999, the agency opened the Family Bargain Center, selling donated household goods as the main fund-raising arm of the program.

•2001, the agency purchased a new double-wide mobile home, providing (15) sheltered beds, with the proceeds from the Family Bargain Center.

•2002, the agency began the “Making Change Offender Intervention Program”, which is the only approved court ordered program in the region.

•2004, the agency received the Governor’s Workforce development grant for the WISE job training program.

•2007, the agency opened a new (32) bed shelter in an old school compound, with staff offices to replace the old (15)bed shelter with funding from AZ Dept of housing (15 year loan).

•2008, the agency established its first satellite office in Lechee, donating the mobile home used for shelter to the chapter house to house the agency’s Emergency Mobile Response Team, and the northern substation for the Navajo Police. The agency continues to maintain the second smaller shelter for men with children, and people with pets. Also in 2008, PRDVS named Best Non-Profit of the Year by Chamber of Commerce

•2010 received funding to build a metal building at the Family Bargain Center

•2011 the agency is again awarded the Best Nonprofit status by the Chamber of Commerce. The agency also dedicated the Lechee substation in memory of fallen Navajo Nation Police Officer Sgt. Darrell Curley, who died while responding to a domestic violence call.

•2012 the agency hosted the April Sexual Assault Awareness Run to bring attention to victims of assault

•2013 the agency continues it’s mission to serve those in crisis.
