Our daughter grew up gender-nonconforming but competent, happy, & healthy. When she came out to my husband & me as a lesbian by giving us 3 library books to read when she was 21, I needed help! The books helped with the education but I needed to get to know other gay folks and to speak to other parents or family members for some understanding of this journey and for support along the way. PFLAG was the answer. It also gave me a chance to be an advocate for our daughter and all others who are like her.
