As members of PFLAG Bloomington-Normal, we have learned to affirm our loved ones’ sexual orientation; we recognize their expression of love as natural and moral. We view rejection of lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender persons by their families as tragedy. We respect the right of each person to be who he or she authentically is. Finally, we believe that by speaking out and breaking the silence surrounding homosexuality, we replace prejudice and stereotypes with truth. PFLAG has opened new windows of understanding for us and we seek to share that understanding with others.
