Local Performing Arts Impacted by COVIC-19
Because of the virus known as COVID-19 most of our plans for you, our patrons had to be canceled or postponed. Bringing in the caliber of musicians, dancers, and speakers that you have come to expect from PCI takes planning and time. Doing this work has become more challenging as we have cut our expenses by 94% and recently furloughed all but one of our paid staff.
The fact is we are not alone. All the local arts organizations need sustaining donations until we can resume our shows and sell tickets. PCI has joined with The Egyptian Theatre, Park City Film Series, and Mountain Town Music to shine a light on the unique challenges facing the performing arts
Over 20 years of bringing performers into Summit County classrooms. Students benefit from masterclasses, guest lectures, and interactive learning experiences:
• Jaclyn Corin and David Hogg, Parkland shooting survivors spoke to PCHS students about the worst day of their lives, and how to move on from it.
• It Gets Better worked with students and community members about issues concerning the LGBTQ+ and Latinx communities.
Thank you to the Park City Community Foundation and our curious community, who has made the arts a part of the fabric of our town. We can’t do what we do without the support of community members like you!
