Parrot Education & Adoption Center

PEAC has been part of the San Diego animal rescue community for over 25 years. Our focus is to provide education and support for companion parrot owners. We also operate a small, foster home-based parrot adoption program. Unfortunately, this program is so "popular" that we always have a waitlist of owners who wish to relinquish their birds. Parrots tend to slip through the cracks of larger animal rescue organizations, yet they live longer and tend to be re-homed more than any other species in captivity. They're highly intelligent and with that comes complex behavioral problems in the home. PEAC works with owners to educate them about a parrot's specialized needs and help resolve behavioral issues that could lead to re-homing. We offer monthly classes to anyone interested in learning more about companion parrots. Completing this class is required before adopting a parrot from our program. Our goal is to ensure that companion parrots and their families have long, enriched and happy lives together. Our doors are always open for new volunteers to join us!
