$4,500 Goal

Education is one of the most important cornerstones of economic mobility and self-sufficiency. It is also a crucial factor in addressing the long-term challenges Native Americans face every day – while most Americans are unaware.

Did you know:

  • Up to 61% of Native children live in poverty or low-income households
  • Only 17% of Native Americans hold a college degree, compared to 40% of Whites
  • Less than 1% of ALL charitable giving in the U.S. supports Native causes

Due to systemic failures and unrealized treaty promises, half of Native students are not finishing high school. You can help us change this! Your community needs you. Every gift made to our North Texas Giving Day campaign today will benefit a Native college student in North Texas!

Typically, only about 20% of Native Americans who start college complete their first year, because of the tremendous culture shock and financial strain. That’s why we offer much more than just funding. Our scholarship recipients also receive fall welcome packs, spring care packs, laptops, mentoring and holiday care packages to help  ensure their success. (1)

The goal of our education service is to increase access and retention so that more Native students have the resources and encouragement they need to learn and succeed, from pre-kindergarten through college and career. By harnessing the power of education, these future leaders can bring about positive changes in their own lives and communities – in this case your community.

With you, we can positively impact the lives of Native students from North Texas, support their education and help them achieve their dreams. Please help us reach our modest goal of $4,500 this year by making your most generous gift before midnight on September 22nd!
